**NEW** IRS Issues Optional Sales Tax Tables

The IRS today has released Publication 600, "Optional State Sales Tax Tables" in PDF format on its web site. If you are itemizing your deducations, you can choose to deduct the higher of your sales taxes paid, or your state and local income taxes. See the IRS annoucement with a link to Pub 600.
