File an Extension

Wednesday March 16, 2005
If you haven't filed your taxes, then you need to file an extension. This will give you until August 15th to prepare your tax return, so you will be able to relax and to prepare your taxes accurately and without the stress of an April 15th deadline. An extension gives you extra time to file, not extra time to pay.

I believe it is a 6-month extension. So that would make the deadline October 15, not August 15. In fact, October 15 (adjusted forward to the 16th or 17th whenever April 15 falls on a weekend) is the date Mr. Perez mentions in the other article linked to from this one.
