IRS to discontinue Package X and Publication 1045

Wednesday June 15, 2005
Tax professionals have come to rely on IRS Package X as an annual reference. However, the IRS will discontinue printing Package X. Package X contains the most important IRS publications and forms bound together in one convenient volume. All IRS publications and forms can be found on the IRS.gov website, which makes printing Package X an unnecessary expense. I have linked to the most popular forms and instructions on one convenient page. According to the IRS,
"Package X, Reference Copies of Federal Tax Forms and Instructions, will become obsolete in the summer of 2005. As a result, the Tax Professional Mailing List will no longer be needed and will be discontinued in 2006."
