Monday, October 17th, is Final Deadline for 2004 Tax Returns

Friday October 14, 2005
The final deadline for filing your 2004 taxes in a timely manner is Monday, October 17th, 2005. Monday is the deadline for filing Form 1040, Form 1040A, and Form 1040EZ, and partnership tax returns using Form 1065.

If you requested a second extension of time to file, you have until Monday to file your tax return and still be considered as filing on-time. Monday is also the last day to electronically file your taxes. After Monday, web-based tax preparation programs and free tax software through IRS Free File will no longer be available. Instead, you will need to use CD-ROM based software, such TurboTax Premier and TaxAct Deluxe. Electronic filing will resume in January 2006 for your 2005 tax return.
