Free Tax Software still good through October 16th

You can use Web-based tax preparation software through the IRS Free File Alliance. You can use the software to prepare and file your 2005 tax return through October 16th, 2006. That is the final deadline to file your 2005 tax return, and also the last day that the IRS will accept tax returns via e-file. After October 16th, you would need to mail your tax return to the IRS for manual processing.
