Saturn Aura Certified for Hybrid Credit

Monday March 26, 2007
The Internal Revenue Service has certified the Saturn Aura for the hybrid tax credit. Car buyers will be eligible to claim a tax credit of $1,300 for purchasing the 2007 model year Aura hybrid.

The hybrid credit is available to taxpayers who buy a brand new hybrid car or truck. The credit varies by make and model, depending on each vehicle's fuel efficiency and energy savings. The credit is phased out for particular models once a manufacturer sells over 60,000 qualifying hybrid vehicles. Currently, only Toyota and Lexus models are subject to the phase-out.
