Schedule and Online Calculator for the Stimulus Payments

Monday March 17, 2008
The details we've all been waiting for.... The IRS has announced a schedule for sending out the payments authorized under the Economic Stimulus Act. The IRS will start sending payments on May 2nd. If you file your 2007 tax return by April 15th, the IRS will send your stimulus payment between May and July. Direct deposits will go out the earliest, followed by paper checks. "Taxpayers who choose direct deposit on their federal income tax returns can expect to receive their economic stimulus payments between May 2 and May 16," according to the IRS announcement.

Because the IRS will use the direct deposit information to deliver both refunds and the stimulus payments, this makes it extra important to double checks your bank account information. As many taxpayers have learned the hard way, the IRS often cannot help you if you indicate incorrect bank numbers.

The IRS also created a nifty online calculator to help you figure out how much your stimulus payment will be.

There is nothing you can do. The refund will be send to you jointly since you filed a joint return. You can make this point part of your divorce settlement in which you divide up your joint property.

We are permanent resident (greencard)only from 10/13/07, when we arrived in first time in USA w/greencard. Our income in `07 this only $252 as INTEREST PAID in any american bank. But we have income from wages, freelanser`s work, pension, Soc Sec & money for appartment rent – all in other cantry, in tis cantry we paid all 2007 taxes. This cantry (Israel) have agreement with USA about excepton of duble taxing.
Our questions are:
Must you fill any form for IRS?
What form – 1040, 1040 EZ?
We must include all 2007 our income, or it prorortional part for 2.5 months?
We can expect any rebate (our income IN USA is less than $3000)?
Sorry for my English — we arn`t american natives.

Dane, You will not get the additional rebate for a dependent. Only the parent who claimed the dependent will get the additional rebate amount.
