Here are five things you need to do now, if you haven't already done so:
- File an extension, and the IRS will grant you another 6 months to file a return.
- Use tax software or one of the IRS Free File software providers to finish up your tax return.
- Pay your taxes by credit card using Official Payments or Pay 1040, or mail your payment along with your extension form.
- Check the status of your tax refund on the IRS Web site.
- See how much of the stimulus payment you will qualify for using the Online Stimulus Payment Calculator.
