Ford and Mercury Hybrids Being Phased Out

The hybrid tax credit for Ford Escape, Ford Fusion, Mercury Mariner and Mercury Milan have entered their phase out period. The IRS announced the credit amounts for Ford and Mercury hybrids will be 50% of the original tax credit for vehicles purchased from April 1, 2009, through September 20, 2009. Then the tax credit drops to 25% of the original amount for vehicles purchased from October 1, 2009, through March 31, 2010. No tax credit will be allowed for vehicles purchased April 1, 2010, or later.
