Connecticut Tax Relief for Hurricane Sandy

Connecticut's Department of Revenue Services announced that tax returns and payments due on October 31 will be due on November 7, 2012, instead. The deadline extension applies to the following state-level taxes:

• Monthly and quarterly sales and use tax,
• Income tax withholding,
• Alcoholic beverage tax,
• Admissions and dues tax,
• Electric Generators Tax, and
• Various gross earnings taxes.

The Department of Revenue Services may provide additional hardship waivers for taxpayers affected by Hurricane Sandy "on a case by case basis."
